The Town Wall Tavern was situated on
Bond Street. This pub closed on 26th July 2026. It was known for its
tiny front bar called The Donkey Box, possibly the smallest in the country.
Constructed between 1825-27, first opened in 1828 with landlord James
Shilton. Also known to be frequented by theatre folk (close to the Belgrade
Theatre) and reporters. |
