The Black Bull was present by 1823 and closed on
7th May 1934 on the grounds of redundancy. Camerons of Hartlepool owned the
other pub in the village so probably saw no good reason to have two in what
were probably hard times. The inn dated from the 18th century. It was
converted into residential accommodation and is now 1 and 2 Black Bull
Cottages, The Green. The properties are Grade II Listed. |
