The Wild Boar was situated at 863 Bolton Road. This pub was known as The Cliffe Wood until bought by the Trough Brewery, Idle in the 1980s. It closed in 1990 and has now been demolished. It was almost certainly named after the Bradford Boar which terrorised local residents in medieval times. The boar was killed near Spink Well which is close to the location of the pub.
