Along with lots of other Dorking teenagers we sat and drunk cider in
the rec, usually bought the cider from the off license counter of the
Evening Star. teenagers, i.e. under 15, by then, we had graduated to the
pubs well know to sell beer to schoolies. |

Me and Tommy Woods lodged in this pub when
we were working for British Gas Pipelines. The Landlord was Ex RSM Bill
Tasker - lovely bloke. His wife was a bit of an alky. They would let us
DJ our own music in the evenings which would attract a lot
of....girls... the object of the exercise. Tommy ended up marrying my
old girlfriend Brenda, who lived in Leatherhead. Couple of years later I
went to work in Algeria for big money. What a life! |
