Name Dates Comments Howard Kettle 1950s My father was station master at tern hill station in the 50's and we used to go to the Stormy Petrel when the RAF were based across the road. My mother was a telephone operator at the camp. I was only a young boy then and we used to sit outside when it was fine. But the landlord, Frank Poole, used to let me go in on of the private rooms at the back on occasions. It was a big and very decorative pub then.
