The Park Gates was situated on the High
Street. This beerhouse stood in a row of cottages on the site of St Andrews
Church, opposite the entrance to Hillingdon House, in about 1853. In
January, 1868, The Park Gates beer house was purchased in preparations to
build St Andrews School. |

Just before the 8 Bells. The Park Gates was
in a row of 6-8 old fashioned tiled roofed cottages with long gardens back
and front. An off-licensed house kept by Mrs Brown. |
