Living in a Muswell Hill household that took in students in the short
term, the landlord's friend & handyman, John O'Connor, made sure we all
made our way to his favorite, The Favourite. where I had my first
Guinness (with a good number to follow). At closing time, they'd bring
the big pole out to open the roof transom so all the massive volume of
cigarette smoke could escape. Like a magic trick, it was. |
