The Smithfield Tavern was situated at 105 Charterhouse Street. This pub was originally known as The Red Cow and closed in 2015.
It is now being renovated and one of the workmen told me that it would be reopening as a bar. Until the 1990s it opened from 6:30am to 9:30am weekdays for the benefit of the market staff at Smithfield Market
