The Flat Iron was situated at 1-3 Mill Street. This distinctively-shaped building which occupied the sharp corner with St James Place closed c1974 and has now been demolished.

Name Dates Comments Colin Fairhurst 1955/1958 As a child I have recollection of being upstairs in this pub with my parents, often wondered/assumed that we were visiting relatives? We left mid evening an got a bus home to Litherland im assuming it was the old 16 bus.
