From Liverpool Daily Post, 1876: |
|
On Saturday the borough coroner formally
opened an inquest on the body of Isabella Norris , 38 years of age, the wife
of Richard Norris, a publican, 2 Scotland Road. On the 4th inst, the
deceased brother in law, was engaged shooting rats in the cellar of the
public house, and he afterwards gave the revolver which he used to Mr
Norris. While in the hands of the latter, it is alleged, the revolver went
off, and the bullet struck the right eye of Mrs Norris, who was sitting in a
chair, and injured her so seriously that she died on Thursday last. The
inquiry was adjourned on the application of Mr Sowton, who appeared to watch
the proceedings on behalf of the friends of the deceased. |
