The Hedley Arms was situated on Athol Street. My
mother
had the licence for this pub. It closed one night in the 1960s to a huge party;
lots of souvenirs were taken away and any ale or drink left after 10:40 was
given away. A brilliant, brilliant night. I was 12 yrs old and allowed to
stay up and locked up the bar for the final time ever. |
