The
White Horse was situated at 18
Wickham Street. This pub closed in 2014 at which time it was known as Fanny
On The Hill. Now demolished with flats built on the site. |

It was called Fanny on
the Hill after a landlady who sent signals by a light to highwaymen
operating in the area. Following a conviction for selling alcohol to
underage drinkers the licence was revoked in 2014/5. |
