The Prince Alfred was situated on the corner of Upper Abbey Road and Abbey Crescent, and closed in the mid-1990s.  A friend used to sometimes drink there in the 1980s and if the landlord didn't like the look of you, any request for a drink would be met with "no, f*** off".
