The New Inn was situated on High Street, West End. This pub was closed and demolished in the 1990s, with residential flats built on the site. At time of closure it had been renamed to The Lamp & Mantle, as shown in the above photo. The pub did have a preservation order placed on it for six months but it was not thought that the pub was a good or unique example of the Architects work and that the Leigh hotel in Eastleigh was better.
