The Kings Head was situated at 26 Liberty, Mercury Gardens. This pub was built to replace the original Kings Head, 100 yards away.  It later became the Birdcage, then Liberty's and finally Color's. In 1999 it was demolished to make way for an extension to the shopping centre attached to the market.
