The Captain Cook was situated on Broadway. This pub was built on the site of
The George in 1960 and was named after the
famous explorer who was married in St Margaret's church opposite. It was
closed in 2009 and demolished in 2010, with a leisure centre subsequently
built on the site (see photos below). |
