The Galatea Inn was situated at 81-82 King Street. This pub closed in the 1960s. Galatea is of Greek mythology and was the girlfriend of a Sicilian shepherd.

Anthony Smith 1950s My Great Aunt and Uncle were involved in the business /running of thepub when I was a little boy in the1950s.I remember standing outside enjoying a Stones Ginger Beer!
