In 1912 The Crown and Anchor was one of the
stopping places for Carl Sterns Clancy and Walter Storey on their Henderson
motor cycles. They were the first motorcyclists to circumnavigate the World.
Walter Storey dropped out of the journey returning home to America leaving
Clancy to complete the journey on his own. |
