The Plume Of Feathers was situated at 6 West Street. This pub is now used as a Christian Community Centre.

From Bedfordshire Heritage:

Grade II listed. Pub. C18 and C19 with C17 fragments and C20 alterations. Some timber- frame with brick infill; otherwise red brick in Flemish bond, painted at rear and right return, stuccoed to ground floor at front. Plain tile roof. 2 Storeys with cellar; 4 bays, with paired rear wings. Late C19 early C20 pub frontage to ground floor has door in reveal with bracketed cornice flanked by windows with etched glass in architraves; left bay has C20 door and window in former carriage archway. 1st floor windows have architraves and 6-pane sashes, bay 3 with pub sign instead and projecting from this bay decorative iron bracket with signboard. Stepped dentilled eaves. Rear: right wing early C19, gabled, with 2 sashes with glazing bars in segmental- arched reveals to 1st floor; ridge stack; ground floor marked by C20 additions which are not of special interest. Left wing has exposed C18- style timber-framing to right return; 3-light small-pane C20 wood casement to 1st floor; hipped roof with ridge stack; added single-storey wing projects on ground floor. Interior: 1st floor has stop-chamfered beams to front range; C19 panelled doors; and in rear right wing, jowelled C17-style hall post, wall plates, and late C18/early C19 - style brick fireplace. In roof, some old timbers, including beams in right-hand half of front range and evidence for a C17 closing truss between this and the left-hand half. In the right-hand half evidence of former use as attic room, and graffiti of 1895 by former publican (H and W Rickson). At the left end, there is plasterwork infilling the line of an earlier gable, with decorative painted panel (having fleur de lis finials) enclosing late C18 style text (illegible). The pub has been licensed since 1750. The name was changed from The Black Horse to The Plume of Feathers in 1865.
